More than half of people aged 75-plus live alone and being isolated can have a severe impact on both their physical and mental health. So what can social workers and local authorities do? In this solutions-focused debate, our panel will explore:

  • Practical ways to support lonely older people, such as befriending interventions and social prescribing
  • How to connect older people to others and networks in their community
  • Specific ways to help lonely older people who live in care homes and other residential settings
