Having difficult conversations with adults and their families in end-of-life care

15:30 - 16:30

Having difficult conversations is one of the core skills in social work in all areas of practice. But it is particularly challenging in cases where a person is nearing the end of life, when poor communication can cause particular distress to people and their families. Attend this session for guidance on:

  • Preparing for and handling difficult conversations in relation to diagnosis, advance care planning and preparing for death and bereavement
  • Improving your listening and non-verbal communication skills
