Knocking on social care’s door: relationship-based support for families at first presentation of need

10/12/2021 09:45 - 11:00

The Children and Families Hub at Essex County Council is so much more than a contact and referral system. It works collaboratively with children, young people, their families and community-based services to achieve outcomes that draw on the strengths and assets of families and their wider support systems.

Attend this session to learn:

  • How this relationship-based approach creates a shared understanding of what needs to be done, and by whom, ensuring timely, proportionate intervention at the lowest safe level of need.
  • How collaborative working with families and partners helps practitioners build on and develop existing knowledge and understanding, ensuring that the child/young person and their family receive the right support, at the right time.
  • How the hub’s work embodies Essex’s wider culture of reflective practice.
