Why social work needs radically different regulation

10/13/2020 14:00 - 15:00

Social Work England is the new, specialist regulator for over 100,000 social workers in England. Its purpose is to protect the public and raise standards so that people receive the best possible support whenever they might need it in life.

It is committed to achieving this through collaboration with people and organisations who come into contact with social work in any way. Join this workshop to reflect on:

  • the challenges of Social Work England's first year;
  • why social work needs radically different regulation;
  • how Social Work England plans to build confidence in the profession that was forgotten during the pandemic.
