WEST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL Case Study: building effective, system-wide community partnerships that support strengths-based adult social care

14:15 - 15:15

Community-led support and strengths-based approaches are now very familiar terms in adult social care, but delivering these approaches in a truly person-centred way can be challenging, especially in large, dispersed rural communities.

In this session, West Sussex County Council adult social care will explore how it approached the challenge by working across directorates and partnerships.

Attend to hear:

  • How West Sussex is changing its relationship with service users and its practice approach through a ‘silent revolution’
  • How the service is using strengths-based conversations and connecting people within their communities
  • From leaders in the system, practitioners and community partnership officers about they work together to deliver change at local level
