This session will drawn on practice experience and social anthropology to highlight limitations in our current foster carer assessments, and propose a new approach to be tried and tested. Attend to:
- Consider how to create an assessment tool that is more focused on the present fostering role.
- Consider how these assessments could give more room for the applicant’s development as a foster carer.
- Understand how the relationship between assessor and applicant shapes the stories told, and how they are presented.
