Masterclass: Resolving ethical dilemmas in social work practice

10/14/2020 10:00 - 11:00

The ability and commitment to act ethically – including through the promotion of human rights and social justice - is an essential aspect of the quality of service offered to the people social workers support.

However, practice throws up challenges and dilemmas, particularly in relation to inclusivity, choice and control, that practitioners need to resolve through ethical decision making. Join this masterclass in The Essex County Council Theatre for a lively and interactive debate, to:

  • discuss how a non-prescriptive and flexible ethical framework can help social workers grow their understandings about the interrelationship between theory, research, evidence and experience to support everyday decision making.

This session is hosted by our Event Partner:

Fiona Davis, director, safeguarding and quality assurance, Essex County Council

Giles Goodeve, service manager, safeguarding and quality assurance, Essex County Council
